Collaborating in the Collective

Creative Teaching & Learning With Polarity Thinking™ 2024
Center for Applied Imagination – Buffalo State University
Workshop Summary
This online workshop, facilitated live from Sydney, Australia and Chicago, USA brought together participants from the Master of Creativity and Change Leadership program at Buffalo State University in a truly global learning experience. Learners engaged enthusiastically in hands-on, collaborative activities, exploring the dynamic interdependence of both/and thinking through Polarity Mapping© and creative thinking activities.
Polarity Thinking™ is a creative process that integrates creative thinking skills and emotional intelligence. While creativity in education is often framed only in terms of student outcomes, this workshop demonstrated that teachers themselves benefit profoundly from these transformative practices by navigating tensions and challenges within themselves and their environments, discovering how embracing both/and perspectives can enhance teaching, learning, and personal growth. By the end of the session, participants were not only equipped with practical tools but also inspired to integrate both/and into their own classrooms and professional practice.
